ISU Falls to No. 22 in Coaches' Poll, No. 23 in Sports Network

NORMAL, Ill. - After suffering a second-straight loss, the Illinois State football team dropped in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FCS) national rankings for a second-straight week.
In the FCS Coaches' Poll, the Redbirds fell six spots to No. 22, while dropping seven places in The Sports Network poll with a No. 23 ranking. With a 2-3 record on the season, the Redbirds are the only team with a sub-.500 winning percentage in either poll.
Montana maintained the top spot in both polls this week, while the Gateway Football Conference placed five teams in the top-25 for a league record fifth-straight week. Northern Iowa, Southern Illinois and Youngstown State are each in the top-10 according to both polls, while Western Illinois is also in the top-25.
Including pre and postseason polls, the Redbirds have now been ranked in the top-25 for 23-straight weeks.
Illinois State returns to action Saturday, when the Redbirds travel to Missouri State. The Bears received votes in both polls this week, and kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
