Redbird Gameday Live To Be Broadcast During Fan Fair

NORMAL, Ill. - As part of the official kickoff to the Illinois State Athletics fall sports season, RedbirdHD.tv will broadcast Redbird Gameday Live as part of Redbird Fan Fair Saturday, August 17, on GoRedbirds.com. The inaugural webcast will include interviews with ISU coaches and student-athletes and will preview the upcoming seasons for Redbird football, volleyball, soccer and cross country.
The hour-long show will be streamed for free beginning at 2:30 p.m. Fans will have the opportunity to also watch the show live at Fan Fair and interact with athletics staff, coaches and student-athletes in attendance. The broadcast will be located just outside Gate 2 of Hancock Stadium.
Ronan O'Shea will serve as the host of the show and will talk with ISU football head coach Brock Spack and All-American defensive end Colton Underwood in the first portion on the broadcast. Other features will include a 2012 season recap, offseason news and notes and 2013 season outlook.
Redbird soccer head coach Drew Roff and a player guest will then join Casey Richards on stage to talk about the team's exhibition win at Eastern Michigan and preview a tough 2013 schedule. After the soccer segment, Ben Ely will welcome in volleyball head coach Melissa Myers and a student-athlete to talk about their first public scrimmage on Aug. 24 and the start of the season. Two-time MVC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year Jeff Bovee will round out the sport previews, as he talks about the outlook for the men's and women's programs.
An interview with Illinois State Director of Athletics Larry Lyons will cap off the show from 3:20-3:30 p.m., before fans head into Hancock Stadium to watch the Redbird football team scrimmage beginning at 4 p.m. The scrimmage will also be broadcast live free of charge on GoRedbirds.com and RedbirdHD.tv, with ISU football radio analyst Ted Schmitz joining O'Shea in the booth for the call.
Redbird Fan Fair will run from 2-4 p.m., at "The Plaza," located in between Redbird Arena and Horton Field House and will include free face painting by The Zoo Lady, inflatable games provided by Fun on the Run and a climbing wall provided by Upper Limits. Papa Johns will also have pizza available for purchase.
