Underwood Selected For CSN Fabulous Fifty Team

CHICAGO - Illinois State senior defensive end Colton Underwood picked up his fifth post-season All-America honor Wednesday, when he was selected among the best 50 student-athletes in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision as part of the College Sporting News 2013 Fabulous Fifty FCS All-America Team.
Underwood was previously named to the 2013 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Football Championship Subdivision All-America Team and the 2013 Beyond Sports Network All-America team, in addition to being selected as a third-team All-American by The Associated Press and The Sports Network.
A two-time finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award presented by The Sports Network, the Washington, Ill., native was a Missouri Valley Football Conference First-Team selection and led the Redbirds with 12 tackles-for-loss, which ranked seventh in the MVFC. He also ranked third on the team with 66 total tackles, and added three sacks, five pass breakups, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and a blocked kick.
Underwood was a First-Team All-America selection by The Walter Camp Football Foundation, The Associated Press and The Sports Network after his junior season in 2012 and was also a College Sporting News Fabulous Fifty FCS All-America Team selection.
In his illustrious four-year career with the Redbirds, Underwood played in 45 games and registered 215 tackles. He ranks No. 3 in career tackles for loss with 44 and is No. 4 on the career sacks list with 21.5.
