Alexander to Also Join IBCA Hall of Fame

Dec. 16, 2011

NORMAL, Ill. - Former Illinois State guard Gregg Alexander will also join the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) Hall of Fame on April 28, 2012, along with former Redbird men's basketball players Steve Arends and George Terry, along with former ISU women's basketball player Amanda Glazebrook.

The induction ceremony will be held on the campus of Illinois State University at the Bone Student Center in the Union Ballroom.

Alexander was a 1,000-point scorer for the Redbirds, playing from 2001-05 under head coaches Tom Richardson and Porter Moser. He finished his career with 1,023 points and still ranks No. 2 in school history for career three-point field goals made (224). Alexander also ranks No. 4 in minutes played (3,487) at Illinois State, and he started the third-most games all-time in a Redbird uniform (112).

Alexander's name was inadvertently left off the list of Redbirds joining the hall of fame when the IBCA released the names of its inductees to the university.
