Redbird Athletics Collects Bottled Water For Washington, Ill.

NORMAL, Ill. - In an effort to assist with the relief efforts of the devastating tornado-related damage in Washington, Ill., the Illinois State Athletics Department will be collecting bottled water and monetary donations for the victims affected by the recent severe weather, Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the men’s basketball game against Manhattan, starting at 7 p.m. at Redbird Arena.

Ushers at all arena entrances will be collecting bottled water. Fans unable to bring bottled water to the game still have the opportunity to help, by giving the suggested donation amount of $5, to go toward bottled water purchases made by ISU Athletics. The financial donation table will be located on the Redbird Arena concourse, near the East entrance. All donations must be cash only. When needed, change will be available.

If fans wish to donate bottled outside of the men’s basketball game, they are encouraged to make donations directly to the Red Cross or another relief organization.

Individuals wishing to help, but who are unable to attend the Redbird basketball game, are encouraged to make donations to the local Red Cross chapter online at RedCross.org/donate, by phone at 1-800-RED-CROSS or texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation, by mailing checks to One Westport Ct., located in Bloomington, Ill., payable to the American Red Cross of the Heartland. Checks must include disaster relief or Illinois tornadoes in the memo section to guarantee donations will be distributed to recently affected areas.
