NEW YORK - Sports Illustrated is profiling Illinois State senior Jackie Carmichael as a Future Game Changer. A video featuring Carmichael is streaming on SI.com, and a story about Carmichael is scheduled to appear in the Monday, Nov. 12, Sports Illustrated print edition.

Carmichael's feature will be included in Sports Illustrated's 2012-13 College Basketball Preview. Sports Illustrated photographer Bill Frakes was on campus last week to photograph and film Carmichael at Redbird Arena, the Karin Bone Athletic Study Center, the Illinois State quad and in front of the Normal Theater. Head coach Dan Muller and athletic trainer John Munn are also featured in the video.

Carmichael, who is a preseason All-Missouri Valley Conference selection, is being touted as one of the top college forwards in the nation. He has been named the eighth-best rebounder in the country on the ESPN.com Top 10 Rebounders list, the 30th-best big man in the country on the CBSSports.com Top 50 Big Men list and the 79th-best player in the country, also according to CBSSports.com.

The Manhattan, Kan., native tallied a double-double, with 14 points and 10 rebounds in Monday night's, 93-64, exhibition win against Quincy. Carmichael and the Redbirds tip off the 2012-13 season Monday, Nov. 12, at home against UC Santa Barbara beginning at 7:05 p.m. Fans are encouraged to attend the game in support of first-year head coach and former Redbird star Dan Muller, who will be making his head coaching debut.
