Reilly Named Basketball Administrative Assistant

Aug. 18, 2009

NORMAL, Ill. - Illinois State head basketball coach Tim Jankovich announced the hiring of Brendan Reilly Tuesday as the program's administrative assistant, a position formerly held by Igor Vrzina.

Prior to Illinois State, Reilly worked four years as a student assistant at Kansas under head coach Bill Self where he helped the staff in preparation for daily practice, conducting drills and workouts, breaking down game film and opponent scouting.

"I was fortunate enough to work with Brendan when I was at Kansas and saw what a great work ethic he has," Jankovich said. "Being there for four years, I think he can bring a lot to the table and we are really excited about adding him to the staff."

After serving as a staff member for Self's camps for three years, Reilly was the coordinator of the Kansas coach's camps from 2007-08.

"I am thrilled to be a part of a staff led by Coach Jankovich," Reilly said. "I'm also looking forward to adding to the success that the Redbirds have built."

In addition to Kansas, Reilly also worked as a staff member for camps held at St. John's, Missouri State, Missouri-Kansas City and Saint Thomas Aquinas High School.
