CHOLET, France - For the second time this summer, a recent Illinois State men's basketball alum has signed to play professionally overseas, as Tyler Brown was added to Cholet Basket's roster, announced by the team Thursday.

Fellow 2013 ISU graduate John Wilkins signed with the Royal Basketball Club Verviers-Pepinster (Belgium) back in June.

Based in Cholet, France, Brown's new team competes in the 16-team Ligue Nationale de Basket Pro A (Pro National Basketball League A), which is the top-tier professional men's basketball association in France. Cholet won the league championship in 2010.

Brown recently finished his senior season as Illinois State's leading scorer, ranking third in the Missouri Valley Conference with 18.1 points per game in 2012-13. He was also second in the league with 2.5 three-pointers per game and fourth with an 80.6 percent free throw average. For his efforts, Brown was named to the 2013 All-Valley Second Team.

The Owensboro, Ky., native also became the 41st member of Illinois State's 1,000-point club. He netted double-figures in 27 games as a senior, and Brown finished his career ranked sixth on the career three-point percentage list (42.0) and sixth on the career three-pointers made list (159).

Following his standout career as a Redbird, Brown was one of 64 college basketball seniors invited to the Portsmouth Invitational, where he earned a spot on the all-tournament team.

He then secured a spot on the San Antonio Spurs Las Vegas Summer League roster. Brown appeared in two games for San Antonio, recording his lone field goal July 19 against Milwaukee, along with two steals and one assist.
