PRAGUE, Czech Republic - Joined by Illinois State sophomore guard Kaza Keane and incoming freshman forward MiKyle McIntosh, the Canadian Junior Men's National Team (JMNT) advanced to the Eighth Final Round of the FIBA U19 World Championship, with a 93-75 win over Korea Saturday morning.

The JMNT finished 1-2 in the preliminary round, with losses to Spain (81-70) Thursday and Croatia (79-66) Friday. With Saturday's victory, Canada has qualified for the Eighth Final Round, and the top four teams from the next round will then advance to the quarterfinals. Canada will now face Lithuania (3-0) Monday at 1:15 p.m. CST, Iran (1-2) Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. CST and Argentina (1-2) Wednesday at 6:15 a.m. CST.

Keane and McIntosh have each seen action in all three games, with Keane scoring his tournament-best four points against Spain and McIntosh grabbing his tournament-best seven rebounds versus Croatia.

The Illinois State duo secured spots on the 12-man JMNT roster after proving themselves during a 10-day, 22-player training camp earlier this month. Your online source for Illinois State Athletics, tickets, Weisbecker Scholarship Fund gifts, multimedia, Redbird merchandise, photos and more.
