VERVIERS, Belgium - Former Illinois State guard/forward John Wilkins has signed to play professionally with the Royal Basketball Club Verviers-Pepinster (Belgium) of the eight-team Ethias League, which is the top-professional basketball association in Belgium.

The Antibes, France, native spent his childhood living in France and Belgium while his father and former Redbird star, Jeff Wilkins, played professionally in Europe, after a seven-season stint with the Utah Jazz during the 1980s.

Following in his father's footsteps, Wilkins played his final three seasons of collegiate basketball at Illinois State, where he averaged 7.1 points and 3.8 rebounds, with 65 starts and 94 appearances. Wilkins graduated from ISU this past May.
