Three Days Remain In Championship Round; Vote Now For Brown
March 15, 2013
CHICAGO - Thanks to fan votes, Illinois State senior guard Tyler Brown has narrowed his deficit to 52 percent-to-48 percent behind High Point's Corey Law, with three voting days remaining in the championship round of the State Farm Dark Horse Dunker Competition. At this point, every vote makes a difference.
Fans must cast their votes daily for Brown to win the contest and secure a spot in the Denny's Slam Dunk Competition on ESPN during the NCAA Final Four weekend.
Fans are allowed to vote once per day by visiting the competition's official Facebook page: facebook.com/CollegeSlam, with final voting ending this Monday, March 18, at noon CST. If Brown receives more fan votes than Law, he will compete in the Denny's Slam Dunk Competition at the State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships in Atlanta during the Final Four weekend, April 4 at 6 p.m. CST.
Sixteen dunkers from across the country were initially chosen to compete in the State Farm Dark Horse Dunker Facebook bracket, which is a five-week knockout competition. Brown is one of two dunkers still remaining in the contest after four and a half weeks of fan voting.
While he might be known first for his three-point shooting and defense, Brown's dunking abilities are equally impressive. In his submission video, Brown bounces an alley-oop to himself and finishes with a 360-degree dunk.
