Threloff, Blue to Miss Arch Madness

March 1, 2012

ST. LOUIS - Illinois State head coach Tim Jankovich will not have the depth on his bench he enjoyed all season, as the Redbirds look to win three games in three days without Jordan Threloff and Trey Blue to claim the 2012 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Title.

Threloff, a redshirt freshman who played in all 30 games this season as a reserve, will be sidelined 4-6 weeks after a fracture to his right thumb was confirmed. Threloff had his thumb get tangled in a teammate's jersey at Tuesday's practice. The 6-foot-10 center averaged 3.2 points and 3.3 rebounds this season.

"I feel badly for the team," Jankovich said. "No one wants to go into a conference tournament without your entire team. I feel even worse for Jordan, because he doesn't get the opportunity to play in his first conference tournament. He has been coming on for us as of late, and has been playing really well."

In addition, the Redbirds will be without Blue, who is staying back on campus after the birth of his first child, a son, Carter. Blue averaged 1.2 points per game this season and saw action in 15 games.
