Final Redbird Coaches Shows at Pub II Tonight

NORMAL, Ill. - The final Redbird Basketball Coaches Shows of the 2011-12 season are on the air tonight, live from the Pub II in Normal, Ill. Fans can listen live on GoRedbirds.com, as Stephanie Glance and Tim Jankovich preview the upcoming Redbird games this week, including the final series of the regular season for the women's team and the 2012 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament for the men's team.
The Stephanie Glance Show, co-hosted by RC McBride and Jill Hutchison, starts out the night at 6 p.m. Coach Glance will be joined by junior guard Candace Sykes. The women's team will travel to Evansville Thursday and Southern Illinois Saturday. ISU dropped its last final home game of the regular season against conference leader Missouri State (Feb. 26) in overtime, 80-76. Sykes recorded two double-digit scoring performances this weekend, including a career-high 21 points against the Lady Bears. Sykes was 8-of-17 from the field and brought down seven boards. In ISU's win over Wichita State (Feb. 23), 68-62, the St. Anne, Ill., native just missed a double-double with eight rebounds and 14 points.
The Tim Jankovich Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Luedke and Mike Matthews. Coach Jankovich will be joined by freshman guard Nic Moore. The men's team is preparing for the Valley Tournament in St. Louis. The men's team will compete against Northern Iowa at 2:30 p.m., Friday at Scottrade Center. The Redbirds last game was against Bradley (Feb. 25), where ISU held off the Braves, 54-53. Moore made five points in the victory, going 3-of-4 from the free throw line and had two assists and two steals. Moore is currently averaging 8.7 points per contest and leads the team in assists (114) and steals (29).
