DeKalb High School: A four-year varsity player and the captain for a team that finished 22-8 his senior season • The Barbs won back-to-back Western Sun Conference titles during his junior and senior seasons • Averaged a team-leading 18.4 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 3.4 blocks per game, plus 3.2 assists as a senior • Scored over 1,500 points, had 1,000-plus rebounds and 250-plus blocks in his career • Posted a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds in the 2010 Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) 3A/4A All-Star Game •As a junior, averaged 22 points, 11.7 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game for the Barbs • DeKalb lost in the regionals to South Elgin, but he tossed in 38 points • The two-time DeKalb Daily Chronicle's Player of the Year was also named first team all-conference and all-area as a junior and senior • As a junior, earned second team all-state honors by the IBCA and was an honorable mention all-state honoree by the Associated Press • Coached by Dave Rohlman.
