Redbird Baseball Announce Fall and Winter Hitting Clinics

NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State baseball program announced eight unique hitting clinics Monday which will take place between October and February at the Horton Field House. Broken into two sessions, the hitting clinics each include a one-hour session under the guidance of the defending Missouri Valley Conference champion Illinois State coaching staff.

Session one includes hitting clinics on October 19 and 26, as well as November 3 and 17. On each date, elementary-aged participants will hit from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m., while junior high and high school-level players will work between 3:00 - 4 p.m. The second session offers clinics on January 19 and 26, in addition to February 2 and 9. In the second session, elementary-aged participants can hit between 5:30 - 6:30 p.m., junior high participants from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. and high school participants from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. Each session costs $125, however passes to both sessions can be purchased at a discounted rate of $225.

Illinois State enters the 2014 season following its best regular season in school history. The 2013 Redbirds won the Missouri Valley Conference title outright for the first time in school history, won a program-record 39 games and had a MVC record eight first-team all-Valley selections. Head coach Mark Kingston was named the Valley coach of the year for the second time in four seasons.
