NORMAL, Ill. - Illinois State (31-17, 11-4 MVC) concludes the home portion of the 2013 regular season with a three game Missouri Valley Conference series versus Evansville, May 10-12, at Duffy Bass Field. First pitch Friday night is slated for 6:00 p.m. and both parking and admission remain free at Duffy Bass Field.

The Redbirds, who enter the weekend tied with Wichita State for in first place in the Missouri Valley Conference, have won four-consecutive MVC series. ISU won a three-game set versusCreighton last weekend at Duffy Bass Field and have a pair of MVC sweeps (Bradley, Indiana State).

Evansville (20-29, 9-8 MVC) enters play following a series loss to Wichita State. The Purple Aces won their lone midweek game, 11-7, over SIUE.

• Established in 1854, the University of Evansville currently enrolls 3,050 students.
• The Purple Aces have been members of the Missouri Valley Conference since 1994 and their mascot is Ace Purple.
• The Purple Aces are guided by fifth-year head coach Wes Carroll, who is 137-138 in his career at the University of Evansville.

Last Time Out
The Redbirds had the week off for final examinations, and are entering play after a series-win versus Creighton. Chris Razo earned a complete-game victory Friday, Dan Savas went eight strong innings Saturday and Illinois State won the first two games of the weekend, 9-2 and 6-0. Sunday, the Redbirds rallied to tie the game 4-4 in the bottom of the ninth inning, but a pair of errors in the 11th fueled a Creighton extra-inning win, 9-4. The loss snapped a program-record 12-game winning streak for Illinois State.

Stanton, Razo Named MVC Players of the Week
Kyle Stanton and Chris Razo were awarded Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week honors, as announced Monday by the Valley offices in St. Louis, Mo.
Razo earned MVC Pitcher of the Week honors after firing his fourth complete-game of the season Friday night at Duffy Bass Field, as Illinois State defeated Creighton 9-2. The senior right-hander from Chillicothe, Ill., limited the Bluejays to two runs, one earned, on just two hits with eight strike outs. The complete-game gem, which was his third complete-game versus Valley opponents this season, improved Razo to 6-0 on the season and lowered his ERA to 1.21.
Stanton, who was named the MVC Player of the Week, batted .550/.545/.750 as Illinois State went 4-1 last week. The O'Fallon, Ill., product tallied a five-RBI game versus Illinois Wesleyan and had a stretch of six-consecutive games with a double extended into the weekend series versus Creighton. Stanton tallied 11 total RBI, clubbed four doubles and drew one walk, scoring four runs as Illinois State capped a program-record 12-game winning streak.
