NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State baseball program announced Wednesday six unique Mark Kingston Baseball Camps, slated for this June at the Pony Complex in Bloomington, Ill. The camps, which each run for one week, were created under the guidance of the Redbird coaching staff and are specifically designed for various age groups and skill sets.

The Future Redbird Advanced Camp is geared for athletes aged 11-14 (students entering grades 6-9) and runs from 9:00 am to 12:00 p.m. over a five-day stretch. In this session, players will receive 15 hours of elite professional instruction from the Redbird coaching staff, with an emphasis on base running, throwing mechanics, defensive instruction, hitting instruction and game play. Each camper will also receive a camp t-shirt and daily prizes and awards will be distributed. The Redbird Advanced Camps are available June 3-8, June 10-14 and June 17-21. Admission is $150.

The Redbirds Kids All-Skills Camp was designed for students aged 6-10 (athletes entering grades 1-5) and runs from 9:00 am to 12:00 p.m. over a five-day stretch. The goal of the camp is to teach young players proper baseball fundamentals in a fun, energetic atmosphere. Campers will receive instruction from the Redbird coaching staff on throwing, hitting, pitching, defense and base running. "Our goals for each camper are great instruction and great fun,” Kingston added. “For the youngsters in the Redbird Kids All-Skills Camp, we will teach a solid foundation of baseball through drills and encouragement. Each day will contain teaching and game environments. For the older players in our Future Redbird Advanced Camp, our approach will be to refine skills in order to help each participant reach his potential. Each day campers will get personal instruction, drill work, and game play. Both camps will be beneficial for development and a great way to spend the summer."
