NORMAL, Ill. - Illinois State (27-16, 9-3 MVC) concludes its non-conference schedule, hosting NCAA Division III schools, Illinois Wesleyan and Webster, this week at Duffy Bass Field. The games, slated for Tuesday and Wednesday nights, are both 6:00 p.m. starts and admission is free at Duffy Bass Field.
The Redbirds are riding an eight-game winning streak and concluded a three-game sweep last weekend at Bradley. Illinois State has now won 15 of its last 17 games and are a season-best 11 games over .500. The Redbirds are alone atop the Missouri Valley Conference standings.
Freshman LHP Will Headean will make his sixth start Tuesday versus the Titans and freshman RHP Steve Heilenbach will make his first collegiate start Wednesday against Webster.
The Opposition: Illinois Wesleyan University Titans (26-7, 16-2 CCIW)
Illinois Wesleyan University is an independent, undergraduate liberal arts college located in Bloomington, Ill (less than one mile south of Illinois State University).
Illinois Wesleyan was founded in 1850 and has an undergraduate enrollment of 2,020.
IWU is a NCAA Division III program and their nickname is the Titans.
The Titans compete in the College Conference of Illinois Wisconsin and are coached by Dennis Martel.
The annual meeting of Illinois State and Illinois Wesleyan is known as the "Horenberger-Bass Classic." Since the series was renewed in 2004, Illinois State owns a 4-2 advantage.
Illinois State and Illinois Wesleyan first met in 1890 and the Redbirds own an 83-70 all-time record versus the Titans. The last two games have been rained out and Illinois State won the last contest, 12-4, on April 27, 2010, paced by a two-hit day from Kevin Tokarski.

Webster University is a private university located in Webster Groves, Missouri.

Webster is a Division III baseball program and their nickname is the Gorloks.
The Gorloks compete in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and are coached by Bill Kurich.

The Redbirds swept a midweek doubleheader, 4-0 and 9-4, versus Division III MacMurray Tuesday afternoon at Duffy Bass Field. Outfielder Eric Aguilera went 4-for-7 with one home run, one single, one double and one triple. Paced by nine hits from leadoff hitter Brett Kay, the Redbirds completed a three-game sweep of Bradley last weekend in Peoria, Ill. Chris Razo fired a shutout Friday as ISU won, 4-0. Kay's bases-clearing triple highlighted a 9-5 comeback win Saturday, and the Redbirds held on to win 8-5 Sunday.
Kay Named MVC Player of the Week
Senior infielder Brett Kay sparked the Illinois State offense last week, hitting a robust .632/.696/.842 with two doubles, one triple and six RBI. Kay was inserted in the leadoff spot Friday versus Bradley and had a nine-hit weekend against the Braves. Kay's bases-clearing three-run triple in the eighth inning Saturday at Bradley, gave Illinois State its first lead of the game. The Redbirds trailed 5-0 after five innings and went on to win 9-5. Kay added one stolen base, drew two walks and was hit by two pitches.
