Last Time Out....In the Valley
Paced by dominant starting pitching, the Illinois State Redbirds completed a three-game Missouri Valley Conference sweep of Indiana State last weekend at Duffy Bass Field. Redbird starters Chris Razo, Dan Savas and Brad Sorkin combined to throw 24 innings, allowing one earned run. The trio struck out 14, walked six and all three starters earned victories. The Redbirds are now 6-3 in the Missouri Valley Conference, having played Wichita State, Missouri State and Indiana State. The sweep completed a season-long 12-game home stand for the Redbirds, who finished, 10-2.

Sorkin Named MVC Pitcher of the Week
Senior right-hander Brad Sorkin fired a complete-game shutout Sunday, as Illinois State completed a three-game Missouri Valley Conference sweep over Indiana State. Sorkin needed just 96 pitches to go the distance, scattering four hits, while striking out one. He induced a game-ending 6-4-3 double with the tying run at home plate in the ninth. It marked the third complete-game of his career and was Sorkin's fifth victory this season.
