Saturday's Contest With Central Michigan Cancelled

March 20, 2010

NORMAL, Ill. - Illinois State's game against Central Michigan, scheduled for 1 p.m. at Duffy Bass Field Saturday, has been cancelled due to cold temperatures and expected precipitation, as announced by the baseball office. Sunday's 1 p.m. meeting with the Chippewas remains unchanged.

A large storm front was making its way across the Midwest early Saturday morning and temperatures in the area dropped more than 20 degrees from Friday. The change in temperature, coupled with 20-mph winds and chance for afternoon precipitation forced the cancellation of the third game in the series. Both teams are hopeful for improved conditions Sunday.

Illinois State and Central Michigan split a doubleheader Friday, with the Chippewas winning game one, 2-1, before the Redbirds rallied for a 6-2 win in the second game. Every Sunday at Duffy Bass Field is a Reggie's Kids Club Day, with members receiving free admission to the game, while all kids have a chance to run the bases after.
