NORMAL, Ill. - Riding a three-game winning streak, the Illinois State baseball team travels to Edwardsville, Ill., for a midweek contest Tuesday against in-state foe, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. First pitch is slated for 1:00 p.m. The game was initially scheduled to be played in Normal, Ill., however crews are finishing the installation process of the FieldTurf infield playing surface at Duffy Bass Field.

The Redbirds took three-of-four games over the weekend against Bowling Green. Following a 7-5 loss Friday, ISU swept a doubleheader Saturday, winning game one, 3-1, in seven innings and taking game two, 5-0. Dan Savas fired his first-career complete game in game one and freshman Jack Landwehr secured his second collegiate victory in game two. Senior ace Brad Sorkin matched a career-high with eight innings pitched in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Falcons. Sorkin struck out a career-best eight batters and Jeremy Rhoades notched his first collegiate save. With the victory, the Redbirds are back at .500 (9-9) for the first time since February 23.

SIUE enters play at 5-10 overall and 3-3 in Ohio Valley Conference play. The Cougars were swept last weekend at Jacksonville State.

Illinois State is guided by fourth-year head coach Mark Kingston, who notched his 110th career victory Sunday. Kingston has amassed 30-plus win campaigns in each of his first three seasons as the skipper of ISU.

The Cougars are led by interim head coach Tony Stoecklin, a former assistant at SIUE. He recently added former St. Louis Cardinals closer Jason Isringhausen as an assistant coach.

Eric Aguilera leads the Redbirds in batting average (.347), slugging percentage (.514), doubles (7) and is tied for the team-lead in RBI with Brock Stewart and Zac Johnson with 15.
