Redbird Baseball Holds First Official Spring Practice

NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State Baseball team officially opened its 2013 season Friday, as head coach Mark Kingston and his staff held the first team practice of the year inside Horton Field House.
"We are very excited for the beginning of official spring team practice," Kingston said. "The team has worked very hard since August and is anxious to start playing. The next three weeks will be organized to ensure that we are as ready as we can be to compete at a high level come opening day."
The team will continue to practice in preparation for the season-opener, Feb. 15, at Memphis. Illinois State will open the home portion of its schedule, which features a program-record 29 games in Normal, on March 15 at Duffy Bass Field.
