BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Illinois State's Kevin Tokarski went 2-for-4 with a game-high four RBI, and nine Illinois State pitchers combined to hold Illinois Wesleyan at arm's length as the Redbirds defeated the Titans, 12-4, in the Horenberger-Bass Classic at Jack Horenberger Field Tuesday night.

Tokarski tripled with the bases loaded in the top of the second and singled in another run in the top of the fourth while helping Illinois State (20-16) jump out to a 7-0 lead over the Titans (14-16). Chad Hinshaw and Ryan Court each tallied two hits in the contest to go along with Tokarski, and Matt Mirabal drove in three runs late in the contest with a bases loaded double. Tokarski swiped two bases to pull within one stolen base of Illinois State career leader Mike Prior (55).

Illinois State emptied its bullpen and used a new pitcher in every inning. Brad Sorkin, Ryan Copeland, Ryan Camp and Matt Werderitch each worked perfect frames for Illinois State.

Illinois State responded with five runs in the top of the ninth, including Mirabal's bases clearing hit and Kenny Long struck out two in the bottom of the ninth to close out the win. Ryan Court hit a solo home run in the victory, his third of the season.
