Head coach Jim Brownlee's quotes on the 4-3 loss to Southern Miss on Saturday

March 4, 2006

Recap |  Box Score

Opening statement:

"This was a just a great college baseball game today. Unfortunately, we were on the wrong side of the decision, but it was fun watching both teams fight and claw to win. The crowd was great once again and our team seems to be turning the corner. Hopefully, we can continue to play well and close one out tomorrow and go home with a series win."

On his team's play the past two games:

"The team seems to be finally getting settled into their roles and is playing better fundamentally. Our starting pitching the past two days has been outstanding, but we need to continue to get better in the batter's box and get more runs."

On Jim Sajewich's pitching performance:

"I feel bad for Jim today because he pitched so well and we couldn't close it out for him. Once again, Jim was very composed on the mound like he was in his first start and he didn't make a lot of mistakes. He threw all three of his pitches for strikes today and kept us in it until the end, and that's all I could ask for."
