In her second race of the season, Brewer captured a 25th-place finish in a competitive field of 300 runners with a 6K time of 21:33, 23 seconds short of a top-10 finish. The Tuscola, Ill., native helped lead her team to a 12th-place finish with a low score of 381 points.
Rutherford finished 16th overall in a field of 246 in the men’s Gold division with an 8K time of 24:26, 20 seconds shy of the top-finisher, BYU’s Tyler Thatcher. The Bloomington, Ill., native held his own with the meet’s top competitors throughout the course of the race to capture the 11th top-20 finish of his career. Rutherford helped his team earn an 18th-place finish with a team score of 493.
