Glover Earns Third Valley Men's Field Athlete of the Week Award

NORMAL, Ill. - After competing in the javelin throw at the prestigious Drake Relays, Illinois State sophomore Tim Glover was named the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week by the league office.
This marks the fifth time in Glover's career and the third time this season he has received the weekly honor. He previously earned the award on April 5 and April 19.
Glover competed against some of the top javelin throwers in the nation over the past weekend. The Normal, Ill., native placed second in the javelin throw at the Drake Relays with a mark of 241-08. Glover earned the award on April 19, after he finished third in the javelin throw in the invitational section of the Mt. SAC Relays with a mark of 242-07and bested the competition at the Beach Invitational in the event with a heave of 247-07.
Glover earned his first athlete of the week award April 5, after he won the javelin throw and set a school record with a personal-best mark of 249-00. The sophomore thrower broke his own record, which he set last season at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships, with a throw of 233-11. Glover currently has the best throw in the Valley and ranks fifth in the nation.
Glover and the rest of the Redbirds return to action Friday, May 6, at the Billy Hayes Invitational in Bloomington, Ind.
