2012-13 ISU Academic Award Nominees Announced

NORMAL, Ill. - At The Reggies, sponsored by State Farm Insurance, three distinguished awards will be presented jointly by Illinois State Athletics and State Farm Insurance Companies to Redbird student-athletes: The Impact Award, the Phoenix Award and the Good Neighbor Award. The Reggies will be held Oct. 27 in Redbird Arena.

The Impact Award is presented to a student-athlete with a strong commitment to excellence. This individual desires to make an impact on the lives of others with outstanding leadership skills, commitment to academics and service to the community. The Impact Award nominees are Cecilia Holmes (swimming and diving), Ciera Lucich (volleyball), Chloe Nelson (women's basketball) and Kristen Zillmer (women's track & field/cross country).

The Phoenix Award is presented to a student-athlete who has overcome academic challenges and has made consistent academic progress throughout his or her career. The Phoenix award nominees are Krista DeCault (women's track & field/cross country), Emily Schneider (volleyball), Jianna Williams (women's track & field) and Tim Wright (football).

The Good Neighbor Award is presented to a student-athlete who has demonstrated extraordinary commitment to excellence in academics, service to others and personal conduct. The individual volunteers his or her time to assist fellow student-athletes in their endeavors to achieve their academic and athletic goals. The Good Neighbor Award nominees are Bryce Kiser (football), Shannon Nemetz (women's track & field), Alison Seberger (women's basketball), Sean Senf (men's track & field/cross country) and Anna Stinson (soccer).
