Biography

2014: Played in 14 games, with two starts at defensive end ... finished the season with 14 tackles, nine of which were solo stops ... recorded first career sack in a come-from-behind victory at Western Illinois ... had a career-best five tackles in the season-opening win vs. Mississippi Valley State. 

2013: Saw action in seven games for the Redbirds.

2012: Played in four games as a reserve linebacker ... recorded lone tackle of the season on special teams vs. Missouri State.

2011: Member of the practice squad.

2010: Redshirted ... member of the practice squad.

Loyola Academy: Was the team's leading tackler with a 122 and posted 17 tackles for loss and nine sacks as a senior ... also forced six fumbles and recovered one for a 63-yard touchdown ... Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Tribune and Pioneer Press All-State selection as well as an all-area and all-conference pick in final season ... Catholic League Blue Defensive Player of the Year ... helped team to an 11-2 record and berth in the state semifinals ... recorded 52 tackles and four sacks as a junior, which earned him second-team all-conference honors in the CCL Blue division ... coached by John Holecek ... also a three-year varsity letterwinner in wrestling ... posted a 41-3 overall record as a senior and a 30-11 record as a junior.

Personal: Born July 22, 1992, in Chicago, Ill. ... son of John and Kathy Dougherty ... the oldest of three children ... his uncle, Tom Sicinski, played football at Western Illinois and his grandfather, John McGuire, played football at Colorado State.
