2011-12
Indoor: Competed in one event for the Redbirds at the Early Bird Invitational (Dec. 3), throwing the shot put 43-01.75.
Outdoor: Won his second-straight NCAA Division I National Title in the javelin (June 6) with a personal-best toss of 268-00, earning All-America honors in the process ... first Redbird to successfully defend national title since Tom Smith won back-to-back titles in the high jump in 1987 & 1988 ... named the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Male Field Athlete of the Year ... named a semifinalist for the Bowerman Award, which is bestowed to the top male and female track & field athlete each year ... named the USTFCCCA Midwest Region Field Athlete of the Year ... improved his already standing Missouri Valley Conference and Illinois State records in the javelin ... took gold at the North American, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) Under-23 championships (July 6) in the javelin, beating Olympic Trials Champion Sam Humphreys of Texas A&M with a throw of 256-10 ... qualified for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials in Eugene, Ore., where he finished sixth with a throw of 250-00 (June 22) ... won his third-straight Missouri Valley Conference title with a throw of 254-06, earning Valley honors ... named the Most Outstanding Field Athlete of the 2012 Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships (May 11) ... won the Tony Wilson Award at the Sea Ray Relays (April 11) for the Most Outstanding Male Field Athlete of the meet with his record-breaking throw of 266-09 ... honored by the Valley as the Athlete of the Week for the weeks of April 10 and April 17.

Outdoor: Won the 2011 NCAA National Championship in the javelin with a personal-best toss of 263-06 ... earned All-America honors ... finished first in four meets, including the MVC Outdoor Championships for All-Valley honors ... Most Outstanding Field Athlete at the MVC Outdoor Championships ... broke the MVC and all-time records in the javelin ... broke his career-best mark three times throughout the season ... holds the top collegiate throw in the nation this year ... named 2010-11 ISU Athlete of the Year ... qualified for the 2011 USA National Outdoor Championships where he finished as the top collegiate athlete and sixth overall.
2009-10
Outdoor: Recorded five first-place finishes in the javelin as a freshman ... finished first at the SIU Spring Classic in the javelin with a throw of 226-06 ... finished fifth at the Sea Ray Relays in the javelin with a toss of 224-04 ... finished first in three-straight meets in the javelin, including a career-best throw and a new school record of 233-11 at the MVC Championships for All-Valley honors ... qualified for the NCAA West Regional in the javelin where he finished third after throwing a 231-02 ... advanced to the NCAA Championships in javelin and finished 12th ... qualified for the 2010 USA Outdoor National Championships.
