April 18th 2009- Spring Football- Welcome Football Letter Winners
A message from Coach Brock Spack to the Football Letter Winner:I am excited to be a part of the Illinois State football Family, and I am looking forward to my first season as head coach. As we look forward to the future of the Illinois State football program, it is very important to me that we embrace its past.
I want to take this opportunity to invite you to come and see all of our games during the fall 2009 and in the future, but want to specifically encourage you to attend the spring game April 18, 2009. I want to use this occasion to introduce myself and our new staff. If you cannot make it, I understand, but please know you have an open invitation to visit us in the Kaufman Football Building anytime.

April 25, 2009- ISU Softball- Welcome Softball Letterwinners
A message from Coach Melinda Fischer to the Softball Letter Winners:I want to take this opportunity to invite you on behalf of Redbird Athletics to join us April 25, 2009, for the dedication of the Marian Kneer Softball Stadium and the Bill Kennedy retirement recognition. In between games, Bill will be recognized for his 24 years of service as the Redbird softball team's pitching coach. In addition, Redbird softball is hosting a tailgate before the game, and also a postgame reception. We encourage you to join us for these functions. We would appreciate your attendance, and hope you can be with us for this special day.

About the Varsity I Club
The Varsity I Club is the elite letter winners club for Illinois State University and is made up of over 5600 former student-athletes. The club provides social venues for members to catch up with old teammates and the opportunity to stay involved with the athletic programs at Illinois State University. The Varsity I Club provides a stage for former student-athletes to help current student-athletes.
The traditions that have been established and the trophies that have been won are a tribute to the thousands of student-athletes who have donned the red & black for many decades. Our commitment to the letter winner family is evident in the social opportunities we provide for our members and the various support we give the athletics department toward their mission of success. The feeling of association and ownership in a program you helped build is without comparison. The Varsity I Club's goals are to preserve the past, embrace the present and support the future of Redbird Athletics.
The Varsity I Club is an arm of the Athletics Department that offers former Redbird letter winners the opportunity to continue to be involved in Illinois State athletics once their eligibility has concluded. Members rekindle old friendships and establish new ones through the bond of athletics. There are no better ambassadors for Illinois State Athletics than those who have competed and have stayed "true" to this emblem...
