Ladellia “TeTe” Maggett Signs National Letter of Intent with Illinois State

NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State women's basketball coach Kristen Gillespie has announced that Junior College All-American guard and North Chicago, Illinois, native Ladellia "TeTe" Maggett has signed to compete for the Redbirds for the 2018-19 season.

"We are thrilled to welcome TeTe into our Redbird family," said Coach Gillespie. "TeTe is going to give us a lot of versatility on our perimeter. She is scoring point guard with tremendous vision.  Her ability to create shots for herself and others will be invaluable for our program."

Maggett joins Illinois State after leading NJCAA Division I Vincennes Junior College to a 22-6 record in the 2017-18 season, averaging 20 points, six assists and four steals per game. Magget was ranked in the top 15 in the NJCAA Division I in points, assists and steals for the 2017-18 season and has garnered two Second-Team All-American honors. With Maggett leading the team, Vincennes has been ranked in the top 25 in each of the last two years, finishing 19th in the 2016-17 season and 24th for the 2017-18 season.

Prior to Vincennes, Maggett attended Zion-Benton High School in Zion, Illinois where she was named the 2015-16 News-Sun Player of the Year, after averaging 14.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 3.5 steals.

Maggett is the sixth signee for the 2018-19 season. She joins incoming freshmen Kayel Newland, Ally Gietzel, Lexy Koudelka, Anya Brooks and Mary Crompton.
