BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Redbird Basketball Coaches Shows, featuring Illinois State men's head coach Dan Muller and women's head coach Kristen Gillespie will air tonight live from Hy-Vee Market Grille in Bloomington, Illinois. Fans unable to attend the show can listen live on WJBC 1230-AM or GoRedbirds.com, as Muller and Gillespie preview their upcoming Missouri Valley Conference matchups.
The Kristen Gillespie Show, hosted by Greg Halbleib, starts out the night at 6 p.m. Gillespie will be joined by junior forward, Simone Goods. The women's team (11-13, 5-8 MVC) returns home for a Missouri Valley Conference weekend, hosting Indiana State on Friday, Feb. 16, and Evansville on Sunday, Feb. 18.Goods is second on the Redbirds in scoring average (12.0 per game), and tied for third in rebounds (6.1). She has made 43.2 percent of her shots from the field (57-of-155), and has 13 blocks and eight steals.
The Dan Muller Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Luedke and Mike Matthews. Muller will be joined by junior guard William Tinsley. The men's team (14-12, 8-6 MVC) travels to Peoria, Illinois, to take on rival Bradley on Feb. 14 at 8 p.m., and hosts UNI on Saturday, Feb. 17. Over the last two games, Tinsley has recorded his two highest scoring games of the season with 14 points against Southern Illinois and 13 points against Valparaiso. This year he is averaging 4.6 points per game and 4.9 rebounds per contest. He leads the team with 24 blocked shots, and his 26 made three-point baskets are fourth-best on the squad.
