NORMAL, Ill. – During Illinois State Homecoming week, Redbird fans can watch the 2017-18 ISU men's and women's basketball teams on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena for the first time at the annual Hoopfest season tipoff event, Friday, Oct. 20, beginning at 6:45 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
Hoopfest is free and open to the public, and $1 hot dogs will be offered the concession stands while supplies last. Hoopfest will include a preview of the men's and women's basketball teams and an autograph session for fans. Fans will also have the chance to hear from MVC Coach of the Year Dan Muller and new women's basketball head coach Kristen Gillespie.Â
Parking is free and available in lots surrounding Redbird Arena. One fan in attendance will be selected to shoot a halfcourt shot with the chance to win free Papa John's Pizza for a year. Â
One lucky student will also have the chance to win free rent for an entire year courtesy of Edge Apartments. In addition, Edge Apartments has sponsored free t-shirts for the first 1,000 students in attendance.Â
Before tipoff, the 2017 student Homecoming court will be introduced and the Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned.
