Lettered in eight sports at ISU ... taught and coached at Illinois Soldiers and Sailors Children's School in Normal, 1946-48, also supervising ISU student-teachers ... went to New Mexico while leading a summer program for the Girl Scouts and decided to relocate there in 1950 ... influenced Jill Hutchison--one of her high school student-athletes--to attend graduate school at Illinois State, launching Jill's 35-year career in Redbird athletics ... as the head of the physical education and athletic department at Highland High School in Albuquerque, N.M. from 1950-80, she received numerous awards for programming for girls ... honored for lifetime leadership in opportunities for women in New Mexico during New Mexico International Women's Year in 1977 ... twice-honored leader for the New Mexico Association of Educational Retirees ... died in 2008.
