After working as a marketing intern and athletics communications graduate assistant from 2008 to 2011, Megan Thompson now serves as the strategic communications director for athletics communications. The former ISU student-athlete is in charge of managing all of the Athletics Department's websites, serves as the main contact for CBS College Sports and department liaison for marketing and promotions press request, along with running all of ISU's social media accounts.
In May of 2011, Thompson received her master's degree in communication while serving as the multimedia graduate assistant in athletics communications. As a graduate assistant, Thompson worked with online video streaming for 9 sports and shot, produced and edited feature video content. Throughout her undergraduate time at ISU, Thompson competed for Illinois State's track and field team in the 100 meter high hurdles, as a transfer student, from 2007 to 2009. She later received her bachelor's degree in public relations from ISU in May of 2009.
Prior to coming to Illinois State, Thompson competed in the hurdles for the University of Arkansas located in Fayetteville, Ark., from 2005 to 2007. A native of Joliet, Ill., Thompson currently resides in Normal, Ill., she is the daughter of Gregory and Renee Thompson and has two siblings, Devin and Jaylin.
