Philip Obado is Associate Director of Bands and Marching Band Director at Illinois State.
He is currently completing the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Wind Conducting at Michigan State and played an active role teaching and assisting with all aspects of the band program in the College of Music while studying at MSU. Prior to attending Michigan State, Obado enjoyed 12 years teaching in the Florida public schools system where he most notably taught as the Director of Bands at East River High School and University High School, both located in Orlando, Fla., and South Fork High School, located in Stuart, Fla.
Obado received his Master of Music Education degree from Florida State and a Bachelor of Music degree in Education and Trombone Performance from Ithaca College. He has professional affiliations with the Florida Music Educators Association, Florida Bandmasters Association, and the College Band Directors National Association.
