Megan Welsch brings nearly five years of game operations and event management experience into her newly-created position as Event and Premium Seating Coordinator at Illinois State. She handles the club/suite level spaces at football, supports game operations and works with a variety of external customers to generate rental opportunities in ISU Athletics facilities.
Prior to joining Illinois State, Welsch served as a Game Day Operations Assistant/Summer Camp Coordinator at Army. Part of her duties included assisting the director of game day operations with planning and logistics for all home football, hockey and men's and women's basketball games, including hosting the Army-Navy game in Philadelphia. She also ensured customer service by providing game day information including ticket, bus and parking updates, special events and pertinent information in guest service guides and fan game day guides.
As a facilities and operations graduate assistant at West Virginia, Welsch served as the on-site event manager for all home BIG EAST varsity sports including men's and women's soccer, volleyball, women's basketball, wrestling, baseball and gymnastics. Additionally, she worked as the assistant event manager for BIG EAST football and men's basketball.
Welsch also gained experience as an athletic operations and facilities intern at Arizona State. Along with assisting in game-day operations for Pacific-10 basketball, baseball, wrestling and gymnastics, Welsch also helped with tournament operations and event management of Pac-10 Golf Championships.
A Corvallis, Ore., native, Welsch earned her master's degree in sport management from West Virginia in 2012 after receiving her bachelor's in sport management from Washington State in 2010.
