Joe Klausner joined the Karin L. Bone Athletics Study Center in August 2012 and serves as an academic coordinator, working with baseball, women's golf, and gymnastics. He has served as an academic coordinator in athletic student services since 2009.
Prior to Illinois State, he worked as an academic coordinator at Iowa from November 2010- August 2012. He began as an academic coordinator working with men's and women's swimming/diving, rowing, and men's and women's track and field. In May 2011, he transitioned to working with men's and women's gymnastics, field hockey, and rowing. He was responsible for tracking academic progress and eligibility, teaching the athletic transition seminar, coordinating schedules and tutorial needs, and communicating with coaches and administrators regarding the progress of student-athletes. He was also a tutor for at-risk student athletes in the retention/LINK program and participated on several programming committees throughout the department and university. From August 2009-November 2010, he served as a graduate associate for various sports teams and educational programming initiatives.
Klausner completed his B.A. at Iowa and received his M.S. in Sports Leadership from Duquesne. He resides in Normal, Ill.
