D.J. Haurin is a graduate assistant in the athletics communications department. Haurin serves the department as the primary contact for track and field and cross country. He is also responsible for the publication of the athletics department's "Redbird Magazine."
Haurin earned his bachelor's degree in communication from Mercyhurst College, where he spent the last four years working in the athletics communication department; three years as a student assistant (2008-10) and one year as an intern (2010-11).
At Mercyhurst, he helped promote and publicize all 24 NCAA varsity sports, serving as the primary contact for women's basketball. Haurin also assisted with football, men's and women's soccer, men's basketball, men's and women's ice hockey and baseball.
In addition to his work in the athletic department, Haurin is also an avid endurance athlete, competing in a variety of races including marathons and triathlons.
The Youngstown, Ohio native anticipates a master's of science in sport management from Illinois State University in May 2013.
