Director of Sports Nutrition/Assistant Strength Coach

Landon Evans returned to Illinois State after previously serving as ISU's associate director of strength and conditioning from 2005-2008. While he was away, he worked as an athletic development coach and nutritionist at the Performance Training Center, a high performance training facility in Portland, Ore.

Prior to coming to Illinois State in 2005, Landon was a student assistant strength and conditioning coach at Iowa State University for two years. In this capacity, he helped with the design and implementation of all the Cyclone Olympic sports programs, in addition to men's and women's basketball.

Landon has also worked with a number of professional athletes who previously or currently compete in the NFL, CFL, AFL, NBA, WNBA, NPF and the Olympics.

Evans received his master's from Illinois State in exercise physiology in 2007, and he earned his bachelor's from Iowa State University in health and human performance in 2005. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, as well as a USAW Level 1 Club Coach from USA Weightlifting. He is currently working toward an additional master's in nutrition.

Evans resides with his wife, Stephanie, in Normal, Ill.
