Redbird Baseball & Softball Celebrate State Patrick's Day

NORMAL, Ill. - Celebrate your St. Patrick’s Day with Illinois State softball and baseball, as both teams end weekend series matchups Sunday, March 17, against Bradley and Bowling Green, respectively.
Redbird softball competes first in game three of the Missouri Valley Conference series against rival Bradley. First pitch at Marian Kneer Softball Stadium is set for noon. Redbird baseball kicks off shortly after at 1 p.m., against Bowling Green in the fourth game of a weekend series at Duffy Bass Field.
Green popcorn will be for sale at the concession stand at the softball game in celebration of the Irish holiday. In addition, kids are invited to run the bases after the softball game, and fans will have the chance to receive softball player autographs, following the conclusion of the game. Reggie’s Fun Zone will also be open one hour prior to the softball game’s start time.
To get in the spirit, fans are encouraged to purchase “State Patrick’s Day” green shirts from the Alamo II and wear them to both games.
Admission is free for the entire regular season for both teams. For postseason play, Illinois State will play host to the 2013 Missouri Valley Conference Baseball Championships. Session tickets will be sold for $30 from the Illinois State Athletics Tickets Office.
