Red Alert Earns Top Valley School Title in the Naismith Student Section of the Year Award Competition
Red Alert won $250 and bragging rights for the year.

NORMAL, Ill. - The most consistent and largest student section for men’s basketball this season did not go unnoticed, as Illinois State was named the top Missouri Valley Conference college basketball student section contender in the Naismith Student Sections of the Year Award competition.
This honor, determined through two rounds of public votes, combined with a scoring of finalists by the Naismith Awards Board of Selectors, amounted to Red Alert winning a prize of $250 and bragging rights for the year.
The Naismith Student Sections of the Year award is presented through a partnership of The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), an affiliate of IMG College, the Atlanta Tipoff Club and administrators of the Naismith Awards.
Last year’s basketball season marked the first-ever Naismith Student Section of the Year Award, with Kansas serving as the official winner of the competition.
