February 12, 2013
NORMAL, Ill. - Red Out Wichita takes over Redbird Arena Sunday, Feb. 17, at 7:05 p.m., as the Illinois State men’s basketball team takes on Missouri Valley Conference foe Wichita State, presented by Frontier Communications and The Pantagraph. This game will be nationally televised on ESPNU.
The first 1,200 fans in attendance will receive a complementary Red Out Wichita T-shirt upon entry with a valid game ticket. All shirts will be handed out on a first-come first, served basis, so fans are encouraged to attend early as the doors will open at 6:05 p.m. Shirts will vary in size, but no exchanges will be granted.
All fans are encouraged to wear red to the game to contribute to a great showing on ESPNU. One lucky Red Alert member in attendance will also win a $100 Meijer gift card.
In addition, the crowd-favorite Red Panda Acrobat returns to Redbird Arena to serve as the halftime entertainment for Sunday’s game. She currently holds the Guinness World Record for her act of unicyclying while balancing sacked bowls on her head. View a preview of her performance before the game.
Entering this week, Wichita State is tied for first place with No. 23 Creighton, who ISU recently defeated 75-72 (Feb. 9), in the Valley standings and has received votes in both the AP Top-25 and USA Today Coaches polls.
