Play 4Kay Luminaries on Sale to Support Cancer Research

NORMAL, Ill. - With the return of the fourth-annual women's basketball Play 4Kay cancer awareness game on the horizon, Illinois State Athletics will be raising money for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund by selling luminaires, to honor loved ones who have battled or are currently battling the disease, at upcoming women's basketball games. The Play 4Kay game will be held on Sunday, Feb. 16, when the women's basketball team takes on in-state foe Southern Illinois.

Luminaries can be purchased for a $5 suggested price, at the following Redbird women's basketball games.

Jan. 25 - Wichita State
Jan. 27 - Missouri State
Feb. 7 - Indiana State
Feb. 14 - Evansville
Feb. 16 - Southern Illinois (Play 4Kay)

In addition to contributing funds to the Kay You Cancer Fund through luminary purchases, fans also have the option to donate money to the ISU women's basketball fundraising campaign online by visiting Fans wishing to donate in-person can do so at every home game leading up to the event, by locating the donation table on the arena concourse.

Founded in 2007 by North Carolina State coaching legend Coach Kay Yow, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund is committed to being a part of finding an answer in the fight against women's cancers through fundraising for scientific research, assisting the underserved and unifying people for a common cause. The goals of the Play 4Kay game at Illinois State are to promote awareness and raise funds for scientific research to fight women's cancers, as well as celebrate and uplift, cancer survivors and those currently battling cancer in our community.
