Jan. 23, 2008
NORMAL, Ill. - Christian music's largest annual tour, Winter Jam 2008 Tour Spectacular, will hit Redbird Arena at 7p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24.
Illinois State Assistant Athletics Director for Facilities Peyton Deterding is excited that Illinois State has the opportunity to host the tour.
"I am extremely excited to have the winter jam tour back in Redbird Arena," said Deterding. "We hosted the event in 2006, and we are happy to have it back. This event offers something for everyone; a family friendly atmosphere at a low admission price."
The concert will be hosted by NewSong, a Dove Award winner and Grammy-nominated band, and will feature guest speaker Tony Nolan. The event will also feature other acts including: MercyMe, Skillet, Barlow Girl, "American Idol's" Mandisa and Real Encounter Extreme BMX Skate Team. Performing in the "pre-jam party" will be Group 1 Crew, PureNRG and Connersvinc.
Admission to Winter Jam is $10, and all tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tickets maybe only purchased with cash and no checks or credit cards will be accepted. All gates to Redbird Arena (North, East South and West) will be open at 6 p.m.
