Well-manicured, lush, green Adelaide Street Field is the exclusive home for Redbird soccer. Located the west edge of the Redbird sports complex, it features all the comforts necessary for playing, coaching, watching or covering top-notch soccer. For players, the grass is the thing and Adelaide Street stays in top shape year 'round thanks to facilities and sports turf specialists working with the coaching staff. Convenient parking sits right next to the field and a full-service press box sits atop the grandstand.
Duffy Bass Field Duffy Bass Field
Beautiful, award-winning Duffy Bass Field is home of the Illinois State baseball team. It is continually recognized as one of the top playing surfaces in college baseball, most recently by being awarded the "Honor Award" by the Professional Grounds Management Society in 2003, the same award it won in 1992. Redbird Field is a perennial contender for the honor. From the lush grass infield and outfield turf to the well-manicured baselines, batters boxes and pitcher's mound, Redbird Field benefits from being expertly designed and professionally maintained.
Evergreen Racquet Club Evergreen Racquet Club
When the weather is not up to par, the Redbirds play at their indoor home, the Evergreen Racquet Club. In relation to other MVC schools, the Redbirds hold a competitive edge with the Evergreen indoor facility. At Evergreen Racquet Club, located at 3203 E. Washington, in bloomington, there are eight Resiloturf indoor courts and four outdoor courts, which were resurfaced in the summer of 2000.
Gregory Street Tennis Courts Gregory Street Tennis Courts
The new outdoor home of the Illinois State men's and women's tennis teams, the Gregory Street Tennis Courts are located on Gregory Street, just went of the clubhouse at the Weibring Golf Club at Illinois State University. The courts opened April 5, 2008, as the Redbird men’s tennis team took on Drake in Missouri Valley Conference action. The facility, used for both competition and practice, features 12 courts. The area around the courts also features a grass berm that serves a dual purpose of blocking wind during matches, as well as providing a seating area for fans.
Hancock Stadium Hancock Stadium
For nearly four decades, Hancock Stadium has managed to maintain its 'old fashioned football' tradition of keeping the fans on top of the game while moving forward with continuing enhancements for those who play, coach or watch Redbird football. The fans are still close to the action, but improvements like artificial turf, the finest in scoreboards and a state-of-the-art sound system provide the kind of atmosphere that makes playing--or watching--in Hancock Stadium a memorable experience.
Horton Field House Horton Field House
If spacious Horton Field House could speak, it's sturdy voice would narrate a comprehensive history of the last four decades of Illinois State athletics. Within Horton's walls, champions have been crowned, and tradition builds for the future as it continues to develop the outstanding men and women who make Illinois State "the Home of Champions." Once primarily the home of Redbird basketball, it now provides a competitive venue for track and field, gymnastics and swimming.
Horton Pool Horton Pool
The Horton Pool, located at the west end of the Horton complex, was built for speed. The six-lane pool is where 23 of the 24 Illinois State school swimming records have been set. Through the years, Redbird swimmers have claimed six Midwest Independent titles, three National Independent championships and six conference titles while training at their convenient home. Still considered a 'fast pool,' the facility also includes a dry board inside and outside the pool for training, a trampoline and a hot tub.
Karin Bone Athletic Study Center Karin Bone Athletic Study Center
Illinois State's Academic Assistance Unit is a model other universities have tried to copy. Redbird student-athletes continually rank above the national average for graduation rates among student-athletes, and generally graduate at a higher level than non-athletes at ISU. With specific programs aimed at the unique needs of the student-athlete and an extremely dedicated staff, Illinois State provides one of the most comprehensive academic assistance units in the country.
Kaufman Football Building Kaufman Football Building
Yes, that is a silhouette of Reggie Redbird adorning the entrance to the Kaufman Football Building. It is an architectural symbol of the enormous pride inside as Kaufman serves as the stylish home of Redbird football players, coaches and staff. From Kaufman, indoor facilities at Horton Field House and grass practice fields nearby are little more than a 40-yard-dash away. The interior entrance on the ground floor opens within a few yards of the end zone and provides the traditional entrance of Redbird football teams onto the Hancock Stadium turf.
Outdoor Track Facility Outdoor Track Facility
Illinois State's outdoor track and field facilities received a facelift in the summer of 2003, as the school continued to upgrade several areas of the athletics department for competition in the 21st century. With the Kaufman Football Building, the renovation of the North Gym in Horton Field House, and now the upgrading of the outdoor track, Illinois State has continued its commitment to building first-class facilities for its coaches and student-athletes.
Owen Strength & Conditioning Center Owen Strength & Conditioning Center
Quality strength and conditioning programs are vital components necessary for consistent success in college athletics, and the Redbird Strength and Conditioning Program is dedicated to developing every individual to achieve maximum results. Through generous support to the athletic department's fundraising campaign, the Richard and Fran Owen Strength and Conditioning Center opened on April 23, 2005. The facility is the largest in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Redbird Arena Redbird Arena
The glow from the Teflon-coated roof on game night has inspired references to Redbird Arena as the "Crown Jewel" of athletics facilities. Since 1989, Redbird Arena has served as the home of Illinois State University basketball and volleyball and, as its championship banners and retired jerseys overhead suggest, the epicenter of Illinois State's status as "The Home of Champions." Players love it. Even before the breath-taking atmosphere of game day, Redbird Arena sets the standard for comfort, convenience and class in college basketball.
Redbird Softball Complex Redbird Softball Complex
Being comfortable on their home field has played a large role in the Redbirds' success. The award-winning Redbird Softball Complex officially opened on April 3, 1999, ushering in a new era in Illinois State softball that continues to bring winning traditions and successful years to the program. The Redbird Softball Complex replaced historic McCormick Field, the home of the Redbirds for 31 years. The move has Redbird softball closer to its lockerrooms, training facilities and offices.
University Golf Course Weibring Golf Club
In the Spring of 2000, the Illinois State Univesity Board approved a $1.735 million project that substantially upgraded the Illinois State Golf Course layout and design, as well as replaced the 21-year-old irrigation system. Redbird graduate and PGA tour professional D.A. Weibring and his golf-service company, D.A. Weibring/Golf Resources Group of Dallas, were the consultants and designers for the new course. Reconstruction of all 18 greens and 20 bunkers were first on the list of additional projects.
