Recognized University Leagues and Associations

A League for Every Player!

The Illinois State University Golf Course has a league for every golfer – men, women, juniors, couples, expert, or novice. These leagues are all open to the public and new members are always welcome! Below are short descriptions and registration forms with more information for some of the leagues are attached.

Groups for Men

Senior Men’s League – Mondays 7:00-8:00am
This is an informal league with a focus on fun and playing18 holes with different players each week. The league will play each week – but you don’t have to! Play when you can - and skip when you have to! Call by 4:00pm the Sunday before to register for play on the following Monday.

Friday Night Men’s League – Fridays 5:00-6:00pm
This is a more competitive league for golfers of all skill levels. Four man teams will be determined by blind “A, B, C, D” draw. 9-hole matches between teams will be scheduled and dinner and social hour will follow play each week.

Groups for Women

Women’s Golf Association – Wednesdays 7:30-8:30am
The ISU WGA plays every Wednesday morning May through September with divisions for both 9-hole and 18-hole players. The Association is open to the public and new members are always welcome. The annual organizational meeting will be held Wednesday, April 19, at 7:00pm at the University Golf Course Clubhouse.

Groups for Juniors

Junior Golf Program – Thursdays 9:30am, 10:30am, or 11:30am based upon age and skill
The ISU Junior Golf Program is a developmental program for juniors age 7-17. In order to provide a quality-learning environment, each class is limited to 24 participants. Juniors will meet for a 45-minute clinic followed by a weekly competition.

LPGA Girls Golf Program – Mondays 5:30pm
LPGA – USGA Girls Golf is a program of the LPGA Foundation and the USGA with education and curriculum developed by the LPGA Teaching & Club Professional Division. The main emphasis of the program is to allow girls ages 7-17 to have fun and make friends while learning the fundamentals of golf. For information to be sent, call the Pro Shop at 438-8065.

Groups for both Men and Women

ISU Retirees League – Thursdays 8:00-9:00am
“The Tee-Birds” are a group of retired ISU Faculty and Staff and their spouses. The group plays 9 holes every Thursday morning. There will be an organizational meeting on Thursday, May 11, at 10:00am at the Bone Student Center. Play will begin May 18. New members are always welcome – and skill level is not an issue! ISU Faculty/Staff Group – One Tuesday/month 11:30
Participation is open to any current or retired ISU Faculty or Staff member. The group will play approximately once per month May-September beginning at 11:30. Tentative dates: May 9, June 6, June 20 (challenge match vs. EIU and WIU), July 18, Aug 8, and Sept 5. In the past the group has met for lunch prior to playing and then had simple awards following play. For information to be sent, call the Pro Shop at 438-8065.

Couples League – Sundays 4:00pm
This is an informal league that will meet for 9-holes every Sunday afternoon. The league will play each week – but you don’t have to! Play when you can - and skip when you have to! Call by noon on Sunday to get your name on the list to play.

Corporate Leagues

These leagues are conducted for the benefit of their company employees or specific work group. Corporate Leagues play from the week beginning May 15 through August 17. For more information contact the league representative from your company.
