  • June 26-28 – 5th Annual Country Youth Classic
  • July 6-16 – BNGA Two-Man Qualifying (6th-8th) and Matches (shared with Ironwood 9th-16th)
  • Aug 25 – Kilborn Classic

The Illinois State University Golf Course looks forward to hosting several competitive and/or fundraising events through out the 2006 season. There are opportunities for all ages and skill levels - men, women, and juniors! We encourage you to participate in these fun-filled events. In addition to enjoying a great day on the golf course and testing your competitive skills, your financial support will go toward helping the sponsoring organization deliver much needed programs and services to their specific clientele.

6th Annual John Stevens Memorial Golf Outing - Thursday, June 1, 12:00 Shotgun
In addition to fundraising for the Illinois Shakespeare Festival, this 4-Person Scramble event will commemorate the many years of service of John Stevens, past President of the Illinois Shakespeare Festival Society, McLean County Board member, and avid golfer. 25th Anniversary CIDSO Open - Saturday, June 3, 8:30 Shotgun
The CIDSO Open is a 5-Person Scramble held each year on the first Saturday in June. This is the only fund raiser for the Central Illinois Down Syndrome Organization and provides funds for improving the lives of those touched by Down syndrome.

Chevys Redbird Golf Classic - Friday, June 9, 1:00 Shotgun
For Illinois State University's athletics program, fundraising plays an important role in maintaining the university's broad-based athletics program. Revenue generated through fundraising events like this 4-Person Scramble primarily cover the cost of scholarships and grants-in-aid for student-athletes including tuition and fees, books, housing and other administrative expenses.

4th Annual "Bring Your Best" Women's Scramble - Monday, June 12, 8:00 Shotgun
Sponsored by the Bloomington-Normal Women's Golf Association, proceeds from this 4-Woman Scramble benefit the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf of Bloomington-Normal. The field is limited to the first 36 teams. Teams are flighted according to total of team handicaps.

Annual Town and Gown Outing - Thursday, June 15, 12:00 Shotgun
The annual Town & Gown Golf Outing is a non-competitive 4-Person Scramble event that provides an opportunity for Illinois State University faculty and staff, and Town of Normal business people, employees and city administrators to mix and mingle.

City Two-Woman Best Position - Saturday/Sunday, June 17-18, Tee Times Assigned
The Bloomington-Normal Women's Golf Association (BNWGA) runs a series of tournaments for women who live or work in Bloomington-Normal, belong to a Bloomington-Normal club or are a season ticket-holder at a Bloomington-Normal course. The "2-Woman" is a 36-hole flighted scramble format tournament. Information will be posted at www.GoRedbirds.com as it becomes available.

Kathy Schniedwind Retirement Outing - Saturday, June 24, 1:00 Shotgun
In addition to dedicating a day to honor Kathy for her 34 years of service to the Illinois State University Athletic Department, proceeds from this event will benefit the Kathy Schniedwind Scholarship Fund supporting an Athletic Training student from Illinois State University. 5th Annual COUNTRY Youth Classic - Tuesday/Wednesday, June 27-28, Tee Times Assigned
The COUNTRY Youth Classic, the fourth largest youth golf tournament in the United States, is part of the AJGA performance based entry system and is recognized by Junior Golf Scoreboard. This nationally recognized tournament offers 16 divisions for boys and girls ages 3 to 22. In addition to the ISU Golf Course, The Den, Prairie Vista, Highland Park, Ironwood, and Lakeside serve as host courses. For more information visit www.countryyouthclassic.com.

City Two-Man Best Position - Qualifying-Thurs/Sat, July 6-8, Matches-Sun/Sun, July 9-16
The Bloomington-Normal Golf Association (BNGA) runs a series of tournaments for men who live or work in Bloomington-Normal, belong to a Bloomington-Normal club or are a season ticket-holder at a Bloomington-Normal course. The "2-Man" is a single elimination match play tournament playing a scramble format. All qualifying rounds, and matches for the top ½ of the field, will be played at the ISU Golf Course. Matches for the bottom ½ of the field will be played at Ironwood Golf Course. Entry forms will be available beginning June 22, 2006. For more information visit bnga.org.

Harvey S. Woods Golf Classic - Friday, July 14
This 4-Person Scramble event is open to all Alumni and Friends of the Illinois State University Department of Agriculture. Proceeds are designated to support the Harvey S. Woods Scholarship Fund for highly qualified students enrolled in programs offered by the Department of Agriculture. For more information visit www.agriculture.ilstu.edu/alumni.

ISU Junior Open - Thursday, August 3, Tee Times Assigned
This 18 Hole stroke play event is for junior golfers 14-18 years old. Many high school teams use the event as a pre-season "warm up" just before team tryouts begin. Past competitors have gone on to play in the collegiate ranks at Illinois State, University of Illinois, and Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Illinois as well as many other fine institutions.

2nd Annual Redbird Golf Kilborn Classic - Friday, August 25, 12:00 Shotgun
At the end of a 25-year commitment from Illinois State golfing legend D.A. Weibring, the annual fundraiser benefiting the Redbird men's and women's golf programs has become known as the "Kilborn Classic". Harland Kilborn, former coach, built a strong base by which current head coach Ray Kralis was able to lead both Illinois State men's and women's programs to the NCAA Regionals in 2005 after winning a pair of Missouri Valley Conference championships. 6th Annual "Friends of Dan Brady" Outing - Thursday, September 7, 8:00 and 1:00 Shotguns
State Representative Dan Brady has been especially active in legislative efforts affecting insurance, families, law enforcement, emergency medical services, identity theft, and combating the production of methamphetamine. Proceeds from this support the Dan Brady for State Representative campaign effort. For more information visit www.votedanbrady.com/events.htm.

Accounting Alumni Outing - Friday, September 29, 8:00 Shotgun
This 4-Person Scramble event is open to all Alumni and Friends of the Illinois State University Department of Accounting. Proceeds are designated to support scholarships for highly qualified students enrolled in programs offered by the Department of Accounting.
